Paper ship all set to sail

A GIGANTIC ship made of joss paper by the Sian Chye Tong Youth Section volunteers will “ferry” the departed to the Buddha Pure Land during the Filial Piety Celebration (Cheow Thor) in the seventh lunar month.

The paper ship will be burnt together with paper tablets, which bear the names of the deceased during the final ritual, which will be held at the Sian Chye Tong Temple in Hye Keat Estate, Air Itam, Penang tonight.
