Planting the seeds for success

When people talk about vegetable and fruit farms in Malaysia, the places that spring to mind automatically are Cameron Highlands and other rural areas.

Rarely do they associate the activity with urban centres like Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya. But modern-day issues such as land scarcity, food security, environmental sustain-ability and health are driving the spread of urban farming — the cultivation, processing and distributing food in or around towns and cities.
