Royal honours for DPM’s wife


JOHOR BARU: Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s wife Puan Sri Norainee Abdul Rahman is among the few who were conferred titles in conjunction with the Johor Ruler’s 55th birthday celebrations recently.

Norainee: Awarded the S.P.M.J which carries the title Datuk

Norainee who is the patron of Hati Nurani, a committee under non-governmental organisation Yayasan Nurul Yaqeen was awarded with the Darjah Mahkota Johor Yang Amat Mulia Pangkat Pertama Datuk Seri Paduka Mahkota Johor (S.P.M.J), which carries the title Datuk.

Also conferred with the same award during the investiture ceremony held at Dewan Jubli Intan Sultan Ibrahim was Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa.

During the ceremony, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar also presented the Darjah Kerabat Johor Yang Amat Dihormati Pangkat Pertama (D.K.I) title to his brother-in-law Tengku Panglima DiRaja Selangor Tengku Sulaiman Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah.

Johor Council of Royal Court adviser Tunku Mahmood Ibni Almarhum Tunku Mohammad was awarded the Darjah Kerabat Johor Yang Amar Dihormati Pangkat Kedua (D.K.II) while Tunku Omar Ibni Almarhum Tunku Mohammad was awarded with the Darjah Mahkota Johor Yang Amat Mulia Pangkat Kedua (D.P.M.J).

Sultan Ibrahim also conferred the Darjah Mahkota Johor Yang Amat Mulia Pangkat Ketiga (S.M.J) to nine people.

Among them was police aide de camp to Johor Sultan Deputy Supt R.Sugumaran, Sultan Ibrahim’s ADC Col Normin Mohd Shahar, state Health Department director Dr Mohd Khairi Yakub, state Forestry Department director Yahaya Mohamood.

Also awarded with the S.M.J title was state Malaysia Mineral and Geosciences Department director Shahar Effendi Abdullah Azizi, state Customs assistant director Basirun Songip, state Department of Enviornment director Mokhtar Abdul Majid, state Land and Mineral Department director Azmi Rohani and Kota Tinggi district officer Mohd Noorazam Datuk Osman.

A total of 22 recipients will also receive the Pingat Kerana Lama Dan Baik Dalam Pekerjaan (P.L.P), while six recipients will be awarded with the Pingat Kerana Jasa Dan Lama Dalam Pekerjaan (P.J.P).

A total of 295 recipients will be awarded with the Pingat Ibrahim Sultan Pangkat Kedua (P.I.S.II) and 70 will be bestowed with the Pingat Ibrahim Sultan Pangkat Ketiga (P.I.S.III).
