A Memorandum of Understanding on a collaboration between Penang and Hainan will be inked during Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng’s visit to the province on Thursday.
State Local Government, Traffic Management and Flood Mitigation Committee chairman Chow Kon Yeow said Lim would also speak at the Inter-Island Tourism Policy Forum whilst in Hainan.
Lim is leading a delegation to China from yesterday until Thurs-day and the first leg of the trip will be to Xiamen to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its sister city relationship with Penang.
According to Chow, Penang recorded a 20% increase in tourist arrivals from China in 2012.
