MIRI: More than 200 dwellers from 14 longhouses along the Kakus river in Bintulu were upset when told that their farmland covering an area of about 18,000ha has been gazetted for a proposed Bukit Sarang national park.
The group spokesman Selan Jau, 43, from Rumah Ado said the villagers came to know of the plan on Aug 1 when officials from the Land and Survey Department and Forestry Department came to their longhouse to tell them the news and allegedly told them to sign a form.
