Top student turns to music to relieve ‘medic blues’ as she waits for answers

KUCHING: It has happened so many times in Malaysia, hence the term “medic blues”, coined by students who, despite scoring perfect CGPA 4.0 results, are rejected by local public universities to study medicine.

Cassandra Ting, a graduate of SMK St Thomas, originally from Bintangor, is one of them. Although armed with a stunning result, Ting was turned down by, not one, but all seven public universities.
