A CHARITY show, “Empress Wu, the Musical” with the Dama Orchestra, was organised by the Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur last Sunday at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre.
The musical is based on the life and times of China’s one and only female emperor: a visionary, a nation builder, a tyrant and the symbol of ultimate female defiance in Confucian China.
The proceeds from the musical will go towards Yayasan Munarah and the club’s projects benefitting children.
The guests-of-honour were Negri Sembilan Yang di-Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir and his consort Tuanku Aishah Rohani who were accompanied by Tunku Besar Seri Menanti Tunku Ali Redhauddin and other members of the Negri Sembilan royal family.
The attendance, support and contributions by friends, family members, the business community as well as members of the public garnered a total of RM401,500.
