First-day negotiation on Murum dam issue goes smoothly

MIRI: The first day of the negotiation between the affected communities of the RM3bil Murum hydroelectric dam and the state government had gone smoothly without any untoward incidence.

A check with Belaga police chief DSP Bakar Sebau, who is currently in Bintulu, indicated that everything was under control at the Seping Bridge, where hundreds of Penans and Kenyahs had staged the blockade since Sept 26.
