Call for stronger Peru-M’sia ties


THE Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail opened an art exhibition on Peru and called for the enhancing of ties between Malaysia and the South American country.

The exhibition ‘Odyssey: Perlis to Machu Picchu’ is organised by Universiti Malaysia Perlis in collaboration with the Peruvian Embassy. It is being held for two weeks at UniMAP.

After two weeks, the exhibition will be held at the Perlis State Library until Dec 30.

Speaking at the launch on Monday night, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin, who is also the Chancellor of UniMAP, called for the promotion of Malaysia-Peru relations in all sectors, including tourism, trade and investment, agriculture and forestry, health, science and technology, energy, education, rural development, poverty alleviation, gastronomy, and art and culture.

“More exchanges of information and best practices in various areas of mutual interest must be promoted,” he said. —Bernama
