JOINING the Star Radio Group as the deputy chief broadcasting officer is quite special for Kudsia Kahar.
After all, Kudsia’s career in radio began many years ago with Redifussion, now known as Red FM, which is one of four radio stations under the Star Radio Group.
“It is very exciting to return to where I began and there are even some familiar faces from the time I was there,” she said.
With the group, Kudsia along with Star Radio Group chief broadcasting officer C.K. Tan will be overseeing all the four radio stations including Suria FM, Capital FM and 988.
“I’m looking forward to making great radio with everyone here and provide clients and customers with multi-platform solutions. The Star group is a great team to work with,” she said during Suria FM’s buka puasa with the media on Aug 2.
The rather informal event featured performances by Al Mawlid and Inteam.
At the event, the Malay language radio station also announced the coming on board of its new programme department head Adiwati Zainuddin.
The event, which was hosted by presenters Nabil and Linda Onn, also introduced Suria FM’s new presenter Reza who will be hosting the Menu Ceria segment, which runs from 10am to 1pm.
In a press conference after the breaking of fast, Suria FM deputy chief operating officer Yusry Abu Samah said the radio station had carried out research and discovered that Reza was listed as a celebrity and his cheerful personality was well-liked by listeners.
“He connects well with both the male and female audience. That is very much in line with our Ceriakan Duniamu tagline,” he said.
Yusry added that the station’s effort in bringing on board popular names such as Nabil, Kenchana Dewi, Halim Othman and Linda Onn as presenters had increased the number of its listeners.
Tan said it was great that Suria FM was growing from strength to strength and hopesdKudsia and Adiwati’s leadership and guidance would bring the station to new heights.
Also present was Star Publications executive director and group chief editor Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai.
