Time for cleansing 200-year-old temple to hold week-long prayer activities

MALACCA: Two-century old Sri Muthu Mariamman temple at Kampung Chetti here will hold its annual Mahotsa Pathirikai festival or popularly known as “Pesta Datuk Chachar” tomorrow.

The Sri Muthu Mariamman Temple which is located at the Chitty village in Jalan Gajah Berang was built by the Chetty community in the 1800’s to cater to the religious needs of the local Hindu Peranakan.
