Vincent Fernandez belonged to a rare breed of teachers

AS A sportsman and teacher, Vincent Fernandez (Zahari Abdullah) discerned a duality which ran all through his life. On one hand was his academic bent; on the other, his artistic talent in hockey. Sometimes they intersected, sometimes ran in parallel.

They resulted, incongruously, in him having one foot in the world of education and the other in hockey.
