22-year-old Carol wins Johnson’s Body Care search

JOHNSON’S body care’s mission to search for one Malaysian woman who possesses the combination of captivating complexion and friendly girl-next-door personality was recently accomplished when 22- year-old postgraduate student Carol Ong was announced as the winner of Beautiful Soft Look Search 2011.

With her looks and warm personality, Ong emerged winner among 10 beautiful finalists who were styled and made over by designer PU3, makeup artist Taisu and hairstylists from A Cut Above Academy to create a look that was in line with the competition’s theme.

“I did not expect to win as the rest of the finalists looked so gorgeous, and I admit I was kind of nervous when I answered the judges’ questions on stage. However, I tried to smile and give my best during the session,” said Ong, who is also a loyal user of Johnson’s Body Care Lotion.

“The 24-hour Lasting Moisture Lotion is my favourite and I started to use this product since it was launched last year.

“Now, my skin is hydrated and feels smoother and softer,” she added.

The Johnson’s Body Care search kicked off in May with call-for-participation and entries submission online.

The 10 finalists were shortlisted from 30 most-voted entries on Johnson’s Body Care Facebook page after a round of interview with the judging panel.

Johnson & Johnson Malaysia marketing director Soo Woon Yee said, “Johnson’s Body Care understands that women love to have beautiful skin. That is why our products are designed to provide women with moisturised, soft and alluring skin — so captivating that it enhances the fashion, makeup and even hairdo she embraces every day.”

“One of the interesting elements in our search is the makeover process, in which we are very happy and honoured to be working with several notable beauty and fashion industry professionals to create the beautiful soft looks of the finalists today, and to truly illustrate the importance of beautiful skin for a woman,” added Soo.

The grand finale started with a fashion tribute to Johnson’s Body Care, featuring a 13-piece “soft” collection by PU3 and modelled by the 10 finalists and three celebrities — actress Irma Hasmie, Miss Malaysia World 2009/2010 Thanuja Ananthan and Miss Astro Chinese International 2009 Jane Tan.

In addition to the opening fashion show, the grand finale saw the journey of the 10 finalists from the interview round to the makeover.

They were also challenged at a question-and-answer session with celebrity emcee and radio personality Zher.

Commenting on the collection, Putri Yasmin Ramli, one of the sisters who makes up designing duo PU3 said: “Edginess and strong colours have always been the signature in our designs.

“As such, a fashion tribute to Johnson’s Body Care challenges our creativity to strike a balance between our edgy style and softness.”

“This is the first time I am working with Johnson’s Body Care. Aside from drinking plenty of water, I keep it soft and radiant by using body lotion every day. It must be the beauty regimen for these finalists too as they simply have healthy, glowing skin,” said Tan.

As the winner, Ong walked away with RM5,000, a custom-made designer gown by PU3 and the chance to model in fashion spread in Malaysia’s top fashion and beauty magazines.

First runner-up Lim Ai Ping, 25 and second runner-up Wyne Teo, 23 received RM3,000 and RM1,000 respectively.

All finalists took home a one-year supply of Johnson’s Body Care Lotion.
