Ear-piercing ritual at temple

CLAD in bright traditional outfits of saree and kurta, 21 children accompanied by their parents thronged the Sri Aathi Muneeswarar temple in Hong Seng Estate, Penang, for an ear-piercing ceremony.

Organised by the Hindu Youth Organisation (HYO) Hong Seng and Penang State Hindu Youth Council, the ceremony is catered to children from low-income families aged between one and seven.
