In the name of peace

A number of good Samaritans gathered at Subang Parade to donate blood in the Caring Giving 1Malaysia blood donation drive organised by Universal Peace Sanctuary Malaysia in conjunction with Merdeka Raya and Global Peace 11.11.11.

A total of 98 people turned up but only 61 people qualified to donate blood.

People aged between 20 and 60 years donated for the good cause especially in the month of Ramadan when the National Blood Bank runs low on supply.

The adviser of the blood donation drive Dr Dhilip Kumar was given recognition at the event for donating for the 111th time.

Dr Dhilip, 58, shared how he felt healthy and fit and most of all contented to know that he had helped to save lives over the years without even knowing the recipients.

Global Peace Day chairman Dr Amir Farid Isahak, in his speech, expressed his gratitude to all the donors for coming forward to help the blood bank.

He invited all Malaysians to participate in the upcoming projects of the Global Peace Day (11.11.11) - Global Peace Through Individual Peace especially by observing one minute of silence daily at 11.11am to 11.12am for world peace.
