FOR over 20 years, he was living in the streets of Kuala Lumpur, penniless, hopeless and hooked on drugs.
He still walks the streets today, but he has taken on a different role, offering counselling.
Ex-addict Richard Lee, 62, is now a pastor, a cheerful, sprightly and affable character who runs Kenosis — a group of nine rehabilitation centres for drug addicts.
Pastor Lee attended his first class at the seminary at the age of 42, and he did not even remember how to write.
