MORE than 1,000 secondary students from various schools in Selangor recently attended a one-day forum entitled “The Future of Success” held at the main hall of Sunway University College to listen to talks by some of Malaysia’s most successful and celebrated icons.
The speakers were from the fields of business, entertainment, education and sports and their talks gave the students an opportunity to learn more about their fields.
Among the speakers were England Optical Group founder Prof Datuk Dr Chin See Keat, Perfection Training Academy founder and CEO Dr Christopher Wong, Amber Chia, professional taekwondo exponent Che Chew Chan, national swimmer Khoo Cai Lin, athlete and coach K.M. Rajendran, Asian Youth Ambassador 2009 award winner Yeoh Chen Chow and Asian Youth ambassador 2010 award winner Saiful nNang, who is also Colours of Asia Sdn Bhd CEO.
Event organiser Eddie Lim said the event was the inaugural ediction of the forum and it was one of the main event in Youth World’s annual calendar.
“We have managed to reach out to over 50 schools within the short span of three months. Throughout this period, we have provided students with various seminars held in collaboration with our academic partners — all organised in fun way,’’ said Lim, who was the sole Malaysian gold medallist in the 2003 SEA Games in Vietnam.
Lim, who was the moderator during the event, added that Youth World’s belief is that within every youth there is a lot of potential.
“We are committed to unleash the possibilities that come along with it and it is only possible to reach this end by continuously reaching out to youths through seminars like this one,” he said.
He said the forum aimed to enlighten participants by sharing with them the success of industry leaders, Olympians, celebrities and many more.
The schools that took part were from the Petaling Jaya/Kuala Lumpur, Kepong/Selayang, Wangsa Maju/Setapak, Rawang, Subang, Puchong and Sri Petaling zones.
