Inventory for the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP)

THE Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) will now use an inventory system in the implementation of its development projects.

Its chairman Lo Khere Chiang said it was necessary for the council to know the precise number of projects to be implemented, places to be maintained and number of assets it had in an area.

He said, from the inventory system, the council could systematically plan and implement development projects based on priority.

“All this while, we have been implementing our projects on an ad-hoc basis, a little bit here and little bit there, and this does not solve the problem.

“From today, we will create an inventory system from which we will know the extent of the projects, how much budget is required, and how much revenue to expect from our assets.

“It will also help us inform the state on what we have, what we are going to have and how much funds we need to implement the projects,” he told a press conference after chairing his first MPP full council meeting in Kuching yesterday.

The inventory system is Lo’s first initiative to improve the council’s delivery and monitoring system.

Lo said he had requested all councillors and MPP staff to give him the same support they rendered to past chairman Tan Joo Phoi.
