WYETH Nutrition, a global leader in child nutrition, has signed on popular cartoon characters Upin & Ipin as the new brand ambassadors for their nutritional formula range, Progress and Promise.
Upin and Ipin are five-year-old identical twin brothers who live with their sister Ros and maternal grandmother Mak Uda (Opah) in a village known as Kampung Durian Runtuh in Malaysia.
The characters star in a series of animated shorts produced by local animation house Les’ Copaque Production.
The endorsement was inked at a media conference held at the One World Hotel in Petaling Jaya, which was brightened up with a special appearance by cheeky Upin & Ipin mascots. The agreement was signed by Michael Toh, Wyeth Nutrition’s general manager for Malaysia/Singapore/Vietnam, and Les’ Copaque Productions managing director Burhanuddin Md Radzi.
With this collaboration cemented between Les’copaque Productions and Wyeth Nutrition, Upin and Ipin will now be taking an active role in all of the on-ground activities for Wyeth Nutrition’s Progress and Promise all over Malaysia.
“Wyeth Nutrition is proud to be associated with such iconic Malaysian cartoon characters as Upin & Ipin, whose programme showcases the colourful lifestyle and imagination of our Malaysian children.
“They are a great fit for our Promise and Progress brands, which serve the complex nutritional needs of young children,” said Toh.
