MORE beggars will come to Penang from the states during the Chinese New Year period as Penangites are a sympathetic and generous lot, state Health, Welfare and Caring Society Committee chairman Phee Boon Poh said.
He said the popular spots for beggars include the Kek Lok Si and Goddess of Merch temples on Penang island and the Raja Uda Apollo market in Seberang Prai.
