Replica of Raja Melewar’s palace turned into museum

DESPITE being opened to the public four years ago, not many have heard of Astana Raja Melewar, the replica of the palace where the state’s first ruler Raja Melewar set base upon arriving from Pagar Ruyong in Sumatra in the late 1700s.

In fact not many people, apart from locals, have visited the palace located in Kg Astana Raja near Kota and bordering Lubok Cina. Situated in the district of Rembau, the palace has since been turned into a museum and is a must-visit for history buffs.
