Abandoned Jelatek fire station now an eyesore

THE Jelatek Fire and Rescue Department in Kuala Lumpur has been abandoned for three years and is falling apart. The Federal government project, which is 90% complete, had stalled because the developer faced financial difficulties.

According to a source from the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department, the dilapidated building had also become a magnet for drug users and vagrants. It was also a major fire hazard about two years ago.
