Beauties inducted into Hall of Fame

FORMER Miss Malaysia Universe winners - Datuk Yasmin Yusuff, Elaine Daly, Andrea Fonseka and Datin Josephine Fonseka will be inducted into the newly-introduced Hall of Fame this year by the pageant’s licensee and organiser, Beyond Entity Sdn Bhd.

The announcement was made by Beyond Entity chairman Heah Sieu Lay who said it was their way of paying tribute to past Miss Malaysia Universe winners as they had helped to promote and boost the country’s name in the global beauty arena and at the Miss Universe pageant.

Heah said: “Its creation is in line with our ‘Celebrating 45 Years of Beauty…A New Chapter Begins’ theme which aims to inject fresh excitement and ideas into the Miss Malaysia Universe pageant.

The former pageant winners will be invited to share their experiences, motivate young, aspiring beauty queens and work together to garner support for charitable and worthy causes.”

Miss Universe 2005 Natalie Glebova has also been invited as special guest and to be one of the judges for the Miss Malaysia Universe 2009 Grand Final gala dinner on May 30 at the Royale Chulan Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

In addition, the black-tie event will feature performances by comedienne Joanne Kam Poh Poh, songstress Ida Mariana and Tony Eusoff.

Tables for the Miss Malaysia Universe 2009 Grand Final gala are priced at RM20,000, RM10,000, RM5,000 and RM3,000 each. Part of the proceeds will be donated to a charity organisation.
