THE Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) confiscated a consignment of RM270,000 worth of contraband cigarettes after foiling a smuggling attempt in Lekir, Sitiawan.
District Three Maritime enforcement officer Kapt Abdul Razak Lebai Omar said the consignment was discovered at 1am on Saturday in a stolen lorry near the mouth of Sungai Kayan where the smugglers had docked their boat.
