AN increase in tourist traffic is expected over the next few years as a result of the city’s recent listing as a Unesco World Heritage Site, according to Penang Tourism Development, Culture, Arts and Heritage Committee chairman Danny Law Heng Kiang.
Speaking during the opening of the Penang Tourist Guides Association (PTGA) office on Canon Street, Law said the publicity and recognition gained from the listing meant there would be an increased demand for knowledgeable tour guides to cope with the expected influx of tourists.
