A place to make you scream

THE Sunway Scream Park in Sunway Lagoon Theme Park is the all-new terror on the scene, with attractions like Prison Break and a three-dimensional horror experience.

All the eerie background sounds and ghostly heads lurking in the corner will be performed by real people who have been trained to give you a whole new screaming experience.

The man behind the grand scheme is The Sudden Impact Entertainment Company chairman and chief executive officer Lynton V. Harris.

Specially chosen: The scare crew all ready to spread terror.

A total of 25 people have been chosen after gruelling interviews to make up the scare crew.

Selected for their potential to scare, the “actors” are aged between 17 and 49 years and most have had little experience on stage.

The crew has been training hard under the direction of Harris’ two assistant directors, Dominic Mcchesney and Ben Rotundo.

Going through physical, vocal and breathing exercises, the actors learn both to scare and entertain the audience at the same time.

None of the the “actors” are allowed to touch the audience. They are also taught to put on their own make-up for the show.

The actors have been undergoing the course for more than a week now and will practising until opening day.

“We're preparing to give our our best just like a good Broadway production,” Harris said, adding that at scare school, the actors were taught the right way to scare instead of making a fool of themselves.

“That's why we're professionals,” Harris said with a grin.

The scream park has four main attractions – the theatre experience, Prison Break, the Rumah Hantu 3D and the Terror tunnel.

It will be officially opened tomorrow.

On weekdays, the park is open from 11am to 6pm except on Tuesday. On weekends, public holidays and school holidays, the park is open from 10am to 6pm.
