Open burning
MOTORISTS using the PLUS expressway to go up north are advised to be cautious as open burning is being carried out by farmers from KM51.4 to KM77.0, between Alor Star and Gurun in Kedah. This is expected to go on until mid-March. Motorists are advised to slow down, sound their horns and switch on main lights to avoid unexpected incidents from occurring. Users should stop vehicles at the emergency lane about 100m to 200m from the thick smoke area. PLUS will also put up signboards between KM77.40 and KM65.00 (North bound) from Gurun to Pendang and from KM51.40 to KM58.24 (South bound) between Alor Star and Pendang.
