The safe city initiative (SCI) launched by Kedah Mentri Besar earlier this month has significantly reduced the crime rate in Kedah.
Kuala Muda OCPD Asst Comm Hashim Ali said the SCI, launched at Taman Ria Jaya on January 15, had reduced motorcycle thefts, house breaking, illegal motorcycle racing and loitering (lepak).
