Strange fish identified

THE strange-looking fish that was caught by fishermen off Muka Head, Penang, has been identified as the bowmouth guitarfish.  

Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) School of Biological Sciences (Marine and Coastal Studies) deputy dean Dr Khairun Yahya said the fish’s scientific name was Rhina ancylostoma, from the Rhinidae family.
