THE Kedah Anti-Smuggling Unit (UPP) foiled an attempt to smuggle in 590kg of rice found stashed under vegetables in a van driven by a Thai national at the North-South Expressway.
Bukit Kayu Hitam UPP commander ASP Muhamad Zunaidi Abdullah said the seizure, worth RM1,310, was made at a road block at Km3.6 at about 9.15am yesterday.
