MORE than 50,000 people from the northern region are expected to turn up for the Ambang Merdeka 2007 celebration at the Esplanade in Penang tonight.
Among the roads to close from 6pm for the Merdeka countdown are Jalan Tun Syed Sheh Barakbah, parts of Light Street, Bishop Street, Farquhar Street and the road in front of City Bayview Hotel.
