Warren makes time for grandson


TOM Jones of Malaysia impersonator Tony Warren has been in the entertainment industry for over 40 years and now wants to take it easy.

He wants to spend more time with his grandchild. 

Warren, in his early 60's, from Ipoh has been hailed as Tom Jones of Malaysia since 1969. 

The retired teacher remembers the magical moment when he sang Green Green Grass of Home and Delilah at the Stadium Negara in 1969 and the audience gave him a standing ovation. 

“Those days, I neglected my son Andrew and daughter Lisa because of my tight schedule. 

“Now, I want to make up for it by spending more time with my grandson Sean Nil. 

Warren has produced three CD's that includes Tony Warren Hits of Yesterday (2005), Tony Warren Goes Country (2005) and The Best of Tony Warren (2001). 

He also impersonates Elvis Presley, Engelbert Humperdinck and Louis Armstrong, 

Currently, he only performs on Tuesday and Friday from 8pm to about 1am at Royal Selangor Club (RSC) in Dataran Merdeka. His Tom Jones impersonation only starts from 10 onwards.
