CM: Malacca Fort different from A’Famosa

MALACCA: The public should not be confused between the Malacca Fort and ancient Portuguese forts such as the A’Famosa in Bandar Hilir here, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam. 

Mohd Ali said the Malacca Fort, or Kota Melaka, was a structure built by the Malacca Malay Sultanate while the latter was built by the Portuguese to defend the state’s port from foreign attacks.
