THE Penang Government is still waiting for a suitable contractor to build a housing project in Sungai Pinang to relocate about 100 squatter families living on the riverbank.
State Local Government and Traffic Committee chairman Datuk Dr Teng Hock Nan said the government had already identified a piece of land owned by the state Islamic Religious Council to build 100 units of flats for families affected by the Phase II Sungai Pinang flood mitigation project.
