Liew elected DAP chief of Kedah

ALOR STAR: Liew Kard Seong has been elected Kedah DAP chairman.  

He was elected by 15 com-mittee members during the state DAP convention in Pekan Baru, Simpang Kuala, here yesterday. 

Liew takes over from Tan Foon Heong, who declined nomination to defend his post. 

He said it was high time the party became a force to be reckoned with in the state. 

He added that the party was planning to capture the Alor Star, Lunas, Kulim and Sungai Petani in the upcoming general elections. 

Also present were Bagan MP Lim Hock Seng and Penang DAP organising secretary Law Heng Kiang.
