Disabled athletes ready for big event


THE Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Syed Putra Jamalullail will officiate the opening of the Fespic Games 2006 at 3pm today at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil. Prime Minister Datuk seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi will also be attending the event.  

The Fespic Games, the biggest multi-sport and multi-disability event for athletes with disabilities in Asia and Oceania, and the second largest Games in the world, after the Paralympics Games, will be a showcase of athletes from 47 countries. It will be a stage for the disabled to show courage and grit for medals in 19 sport events at various venues in the Klang Valley.
