MPAJ or Ampang Municipal Council estimated its revenue for next year at RM93.9mil.
For 2008, it is estimated at RM96.8mil with expenditure remaining the same.
President Mohammad Yacob also said MPAJ aims to collect at 90% of the estimated amount, next year.
It will be a balanced budget, but the revenue is estimated to be lower than previous years, he said, when tabling the council budget for the next two years.
He added that the estimated revenue for 2006 was RM114mil.
The newly appointed president said assessment fees would make up 80.5% of next years revenue.
He added that the council is still collecting assessment arrears of RM23mil accumulated from previous years.
Mohammad said an estimated 72.5% of the total expenditure would centre on services and supplies such as maintenance of drains, roads, waste disposal, community activities and rental of equipment.
He also said enforcement such as clamping the wheels of illegally parked vehicles will be boosted to solve parking and traffic woes.
Mohammad, who was Kuala Selangor district officer, took over as coun- cil president from Datuk Ahmad Shafii Saidin last month, when he was promoted to deputy secretary-general II at the Internal Security Ministry.
This is the first budget meeting chaired by Mohammad.
