Two pals drawn to kolam art

INSPIRED by their children who have taken part in various art contests, two Chinese housewives decided to take part in an event themselves. And they chose a kolam-making competition. 

Kh’ng Phaik Heok, 39, and her friend Lean Lai Lee, 37, had never made a kolam (Indian decorative art) before and both were excited about trying their hand at creating colourful designs on the pavement at the entrance of the Kompleks Bukit Jambul in Penang.
