FORMER soldier Nasir Abas, the first Malaysian to run the length of the country, has joined the Sukma 2006 Torch Run as the sole runner to run the entire 720km course covering the whole state.
The Kedahan started on the first leg of the run in Langkawi on May 12 and continued to join the groups of runners in every one of the stages organised by Kota Star (May 13), Yan (May 14), Kuala Muda (May 15), Kulim (May 16), Bandar Baharu (May 17), Baling (May 18), Sik (May 19), Pendang (May 20), Padang Terap (May 21) and Kubang Pasu (May 22) and Kota Star (May 23).
