Rest area closed 

THE Pagoh (south-bound) rest and service area will be temporarily closed for five months until Sept 30 for upgrading works. However, the existing petrol station will operate as usual. Motorists are advised to utilise the Ayer Keroh Overhead Bridge Restaurant at Km210, Ayer Keroh Rest and Service Area at Km210 or Machap Rest and Service Area at Km74.7 For details, contact PLUSline at 1-800-88-0000. 

 

Furniture expo and sale 

Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) is holding a furniture expo and sale at its furniture industry complex in Kota Samarahan until May 1. The expo is open to the public from 9am to 6pm daily and offers a wide range of furniture at reasonable prices made by STIDC vendors. Water disruption 

There will be a water supply disruption today from 10am to 9pm due to maintenance in Kg Sg Burong, Sg Tempayan, Bt 30 Pengkalan Raja, Pt Pasir, Telok Kerang, Belokok, Sg Punai, Peradin, parts of Jln Kukup, Pt Jerman, Penerok, Kg Baru and Kg Baru 6, Permas, Kukup Laut, Serkat, Sg Kuali, Tg Piai, Chokoh, Sg Boh, and parts of Tg Bin. Tax collection 

The Johor Baru Inland Revenue Board (IRB) night service counters at Bangunan Hasil are open from 8am to 9.45pm on weekdays and from 9am to 9.45pm on weekends until April 28. Those with Borang BE 2005 are to send them to Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia, Pusat Pemprosesan, Karung Berkunci 11054, 50990 Kuala Lumpur by April 30. For enquiries, call 07-235 9510 ext 420. 

Public forum 

Hospital Pantai Ayer Keroh will hold a public forum on April 29 at the hospital’s conference room. The event begins at 2pm and will include a talk by StemLife Sdn Bhd on the healing power of stem cells. Admission is free. For details, contact Ng at 06-231 9999. 

 

Interactive workshop 

An interactive workshop entitled “Is the Malaysian volunteer an endangered species? Is voluntarism in Malaysia threatened with extinction?” will be held from 2pm to 6pm on April 29 at the Melaka Manipal Medical College. It is organised by Melaka Manipal Medical College, National Stroke Association of Malaysia and Wings Melaka. A fee of RM10 per person will be charged.
