RACING enthusiasts can experience the thrills of Formula One and the action during pit stops at the Michelin Pilot Experience exhibition at 1 Utama shopping complex in Petaling Jaya.
The event, which ends on March 19, is organised by Michelin Malaysia Sdn Bhd in conjunction with the Malaysian F1 GP to be held from March 17 to 19 at the Sepang International Circuit.
Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to race on F1 simulators and try out the equipment used by pit-stop crews during an F1 race.
“The Michelin Pilot Experience will share with Malaysians the excitement of Formula One racing and give consumers a unique experience to try to change a set of F1 tyres with the gun on the clock,” said Michelin Malaysia general manager Ronald Sutardja.
He said the event would reinforce Michelin's long association with motor sports including supplying tyres to the 2005 F1 champions and runners-up.
He said the event also aimed to educate consumers on the importance of good tyres.
“The automotive tyre is one of the most underestimated vehicle components and yet motorists expect them to perform at all times. A badly worn or the wrong choice of tyre will not deliver the desired performance,” he explained.
Alongside the exhibition is the Michelin Care Showcase that features a whole range of product attributes that influence Malaysians' daily lives including safety, economy and environmental protection.
For that, four home environments such as the bedroom, living room, garden and study room are used to reflect the tyres' attributes.
The exhibition is at the High Street concourse and open from 10am to 10pm daily.
