MALAYSIANS will get to see the largest tea bag in the country at Giant Hypermarket in Shah Alam where it will be displayed until Dec 12.
Though it is too big to fit in any teapot, the giant tea bag is made using materials used for producing real tea bags.
Measuring 4m high and 2.7m wide, the BOH Giant Tea Bag is made with filter paper and polyethylene rope and contains real BOH signature aromatic tea leaves. The giant tea bag also comes complete with a giant tea label that is 1.3m long and 1.8m wide.
The tea bag was entered in Malaysia Book of Records as the largest ever constructed in Malaysia after the record was certified by officials last Wednesday.
BOH Plantation chief executive officer Caroline Russell said the giant tea bag was a symbolic representation of the brands leading position in the market.
Over the years, BOH has been able to sustain our brand leadership and this years market research study by AC Nielsen once again reaffirms our market positioning as the number one tea brand in the overall tea market segment.
Building the BOH Giant Tea Bag is also our way of thanking the community for their support over the years, by giving them an icon they can be proud of, she said.
Also present at the ceremony were Harpers Trading Sdn Bhd senior general manager Thomas Wong and Giant Hypermarket general manager Tan Kar Chin. Malaysia Book of Records was represented by Sujatha Nair.
Shoppers at the hypermarket can enjoy various activities lined up in conjunction with the feat.
Visitors can sample the latest BOH products at the booth set up and take part in games organised during the weekends.
They can guess the weight of the giant tea bag to win prizes, said Russell.
She added that the activities organised were in line with the companys motto of bringing people together to enjoy each others company and bond over a cup of tea.
