Despite having lost their homes and loved ones, victims of last year’s Dec 26 tsunami tried to make the best of their situation as they ushered in the first day of Ramadan in their transit homes in Kuala Muda, Sungai Petani, Kedah.
For those who lost homes, it was a matter of adjusting to new surroundings but those who lost their loved ones could not stop their eyes from brimming with tears as they gathered to have their first sahur (predawn meal) at 3am on Wednesday.
