THE zakat (tithe) rate for the month of Ramadan in Perak this year has been fixed at RM4.50 per person.
Perak Islamic and Malay Cultural Council (MAIP) secretary Jamry Sury said the department had engaged 2,000 people to collect the tithe from some one million Muslims in the state.
