MANY Vietnamese tourists are shying away from Penang because they think that the island is famous only for its beaches.
A Singaporean travel agency, which recently arranged for nine tour agents from Ho Chi Minh City to come to Penang on a two-day familiarisation trip to help dispel this miscon- ception, said Vietnamese tourists usually visited Kuala Lumpur, Genting Highlands, Malacca and Singapore.
