RESILIENCE and patriotism must always go hand-in-hand.

This was the message of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sungai Soi principal Azizah Mohamad as the school celebrated National Day in Kuantan.

PATRIOTIC SPIRIT: Students and teachers of SMK Sungai Soi waving the Jalur Gemilang at the school grounds during their National Day celebrations recently.

“We must be resilient. We must know what we want and how to go about achieving it and at the same time ensure our efforts are contributions that make our country more progressive and strong,” she said in her National Day speech.

The school was specially decorated with flags, banners and buntings to commemorate the 48th National Day this year.

More than 600 students, teachers and school staff gathered at the school compound to kick off the celebration with seven shouts of “Merdeka”.

The celebration included patriotic songs sung by the school choir comprising 50 students.
