Bukit Mertajam MP Chong Eng is seeking to strike off a 1999 defamation suit filed against her by British music conductor Mark Ignatius Uttley @ Mark Ostyn, on grounds that he had not complied with a court order.
Chong, who is also Wanita DAP chief, claimed in her application that the former Penang State Symphony Orchestra and Chorus (Pessoc) resident conductor failed to obey a High Court order dated Oct 14, 2004, to pay her a RM30,000 security for costs within six weeks from that date.
