Develop mangrove forest, urges society

THE Malaysian Nature Society has proposed that the mangrove forest and freshwater marsh at Kampung Pantai Acheh in the Penang National Park be deve- loped and managed as a wetlands sanctuary with facilities to attract visitors.

Its Penang branch chairman Kanda Kumar said boardwalks and viewing huts could be built in the mangrove forest to enable visitors to walk through the forest and look out for wetlands ani- mals and birds such as egrets and herons.
