ABOUT 20 schoolchildren staying atop Penang Hill had a bumpy start to their new school term yesterday when they travelled on four-wheel drives (4WDs) and trucks up and down the hill, instead of the funicular train service.
Those in the morning session had to wake up as early as 5am to catch the first trip down the hill at 6.15am from the hilltop train station.
