According to Sherry, “Balik Kampung...Gosip Raya” came to life in the blink of an eye. "Sony Music approached us with a Raya song idea, I listened to it once, and immediately said ‘YES!’ No overthinking, just vibes! Ain was totally on board too, and within a month, we had the song recorded and ready to go."
Ain added, "This isn’t our first time working together, but it’s our first time collaborating on a song. We’ve been partners-in-crime on many projects, so we already know each other’s quirks. If we’re already chaotic on set, imagine what happened in the recording studio."
Laughter-Filled Recording Sessions – Ain & Sherry, A Perfect Match
Recording the song was an absolute blast, filled with the hilarious antics of Ain and Sherry, who are both known for their spontaneous humor and effortless charm.
“We’re not professional singers, so every time we finished recording a line, we’d burst into laughter! Sometimes, we had to take multiple breaks because we were laughing too hard,” said Ain.
Sherry added, “You know what was the funniest part? When we listened to the playback, we couldn’t even tell our voices apart! ‘Wait, is this Ain or me?’ We had to ask the producer to confirm! Thankfully, we had Afif Termizie guiding us in the studio, or else this song might have ended up a total mess!”
